Do It For You

At this time of unrest everywhere, it is important to take care of ourselves.

The best way to survive the pandemic is to improve our immunity. And that would happen only if we keep our body healthy and strong.

The best way to bring a change, is to educate ourselves, expand our knowledge. Learning never exhausts the mind. Be curious, not Judgmental. Be a Better You!

Where do you vision yourself to be in a month, year,10 years? We all know to achieve our goals - we have to work for it! Now is the time to begin. We save for retirement, so we enjoy the benefits later. We plan for our future. Planning is the key for a better tomorrow.

We take care of that seed we sow, we make sure our plants are healthy, we want to see it grow. We know that the plant will not flower, fruit immediately! We all know if we tend our plants with love and care and provide it with plenty of sun and water we will see it thrive beautifully. We take pride in our hard work.

Beautiful Small pleasures!

Likewise, how many of us really take care of our bodies? To make sure we live a healthy life. To make sure we will enjoy THAT planned retirement. Be honest – do we really? When our body surprises us with illness and pain – we don’t stop to think what we have done to our bodies! We don’t make an effort to change our lifestyle to make it better. Instead, we expect miracles to happen and continue to abuse our bodies! Or we get desperate and try to fix things after the damage has been done!

Caring for our body is our grandest responsibility! Most often it is our minds that bullies our bodies! Self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Focus on these things –

1. Make yourself a priority

2. Plan your day

3. Move (Exercise -walk, lift weights, dance)

4. Drink water

5. Eat clean – eat whole foods

6. Be Mindful

7. Eat at home

8. Eat your food – don’t starve or skip meals

9. Eat your dinner early.

10. Get enough sleep

Be persistent, you will see the magic happen! Do not focus on the weighing scale. You will see so many NON-SCALE VICTORIES –

1. Clothes fit better

2. More energy

3. Improved endurance

4. Sleep quality

5. Fewer cravings

6. Feel healthier

“The scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. Don’t give the scale more power than it earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life” – Dr. Steve Maraboli , a famous doctor quoted. And I cannot agree with him more.

This journey might not be everything you want, but it will be everything you need. You will learn so much about yourself and who you are inside. You will grow in ways you never thought possible. You will see your body get healthy.

Persistence is the key! We often get restless to see results immediately. Remember, all our bad habits will not

disappear overnight. The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit from that plant. It is a slow process. It will happen only when you focus, and work at it. Remember every day is a fresh start. Love yourself enough to live a healthy lifestyle.

Keep in mind -

1. Stop making excuses

2. Love yourself

3. Exercise - to be fit not skinny

4. Eat – to nourish your body

5. Focus on your health, not your weight

6. Learn to be disciplined

7. Get addicted to bettering yourself

8. Create healthy habits, not restrictions

9. Let exercise be your stress relief, not food

10. Your only limit is you.

Whatever you are not changing you are choosing! (read that again).

One day? Or day one – you decide.

Start by starting. Do this for yourself.
