As we begin a New Year, resolutions are made. We all know the enthusiasm of our resolutions wears off as week, months pass. I am sure we all agree only a few of us stay committed to our goals till the end. How about Training your brain to make the change? BE THE CHANGE.
No one achieved anything just wishing for things. We all know we have to work hard and stay committed to our goals to see results. To get there we need to take lot of little steps. Whatever that is for you! No one will hold you more accountable than a disciplined mind. Do not underestimate the power of hard work. Now pause – think what your resolution is. Are you going to see that you get to your goals, or are you going to be a loser to yourself and let go? Your choice, Your life.
Most of us would say I want to lose that weight as a new year resolution, and first thing we do is sign up to go to the gym. Any form of exercise is extremely important but the truth is going to the gym and exercising alone is not going to help you lose that weight. You lose that weight in your own KITCHEN! Yes – the reality! Your own kitchen has the power! Also, don’t focus on losing the weight, instead focus on a healthy lifestyle! The weight loss will happen automatically. Our healthy lifestyle is from 20% workout, and 80% food.
Think about this -
Most of us have cars. We fill gas – we pause at the gas station to think about the grade of gas we want to fill our cars with. We know if we put cheap gas it is not good for our cars. Do we pause, think before what we put in our mouths? Absolutely not! We eat mindlessly, we eat more than what our body wants, we eat every crap we see. We load our plates like there is no tomorrow, we eat that dessert as though it is the last meal we will ever eat! It could probably be the last meal if you keep at it! Next time you do this – remember you are not loving your body but in fact abusing your body! This is why we all end up with diseases, pains and aches and we wonder where we went wrong!
Next time remember –
Buffets – why do we load that plate – we think we have to do justice as we paid that money of someone is giving us free food! But are you doing justice to your body? Are you loving your body? you eat what your body needs? Connect with the food and your body. Be mindful.
Desserts – It’s your brain that wants you to eat more! Your taste from the sweetness and awesomeness stays for a full of 2 mins may be – then it goes away, and you are left with that guilt. Would you want to put yourself through that guilt and be miserable for that 2 min pleasure or take just one bite of the dessert and satisfy your craving and be healthy? Your choice.
Eating out – Not a good choice if you want to have a healthy lifestyle. You have no idea what ingredient was put in that food! you have no idea the quantity or quality of the ingredients. Does that not mean you cannot live a life – pls do – but be mindful how much you eat!
Learn to connect with your food, learn to eat mindfully, learn to love and celebrate your body for our body is our abode – Temple – Honor it.
Wake up, get ready and focus on what you want to accomplish this year – THEN GO FOR IT. Create your own Healthy Journey.
Happy New Year.
