SWEAT IS NOT GROSS; IT IS LIQUID AWESOME.

I will not let Age change me – I will change the way I age- IS MY MOTTO.

Jlo and Shakira’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime was amazing! what a show!!! 50 years old JLO, 43 years old Shakira rocked it with their fitness, energy, dancing and singing was fascinating to watch. I am sure it takes lot of fitness training, dedication and love for what they do! It was a SPETACULAR, JAW DROPPING performance. Our SWEAT class at the GYM was dedicated to both these amazing ladies – and our instructor called it – Jlo-Shakira Booty workout. End of class we all thought our glutes really firmed up and we literally crawled out of our class. Oh! what Fun!

Coming to our reality world – We are no Jlo or Shakira!! but we have to do what little we all can do, that fits our lifestyle! And that would be -

Wear your shoes – MOVE. And that’s how we begin!

I cannot stress enough how moving would help you kick off your journey towards a healthy life. 20% of our health comes from moving.

Find your happy place in working out. It could be as simple as walking.

10,000 steps every single day should be your goal. Find ways to walk. Climb those stairs, pace in the steam room, go for walks during lunch breaks, park your car further away in a parking space. If you make it a conscious effort it becomes a habit. I have a friend who is walking the halls of a hospital, as she is stressed that her dad is admitted in the hospital. Never fails to reach her goal of 10,000 steps.

Another who works long hours, mother of 2 kids, cooks and runs around for after school activities, still does amazing – 15,000 and more every single day. A friend said she did not walk one day! Now – how can that be… we all walk! Count your steps the first day and increase by 500 every single day. Would you like your kids not move in a day, and just sit around? If you don’t want your kids to do that, why would you do that? Make yourself a priority! Absolutely No Excuses to Move!

If you enjoy going to the gym - get there! Cardio, weights, machines, group classes, Pilates, yoga, step, HIIT, SWEAT, Zumba, … the list in endless. Find what you like and get moving. Don’t Fear – let Fear not rule your life!

For me group classes work best! I enjoy meeting my friends, and we motivate each other. We brag about our workouts on social media. Find your friends, do not hesitate to motivate others and brag on your achievements. Workout does amazing things to your body. A sense of achievement, control, accomplishment, energy, confidence, strong body and mind. Every single time, every single day…. The endorphin kicking is an amazing feeling! it has to be experienced, to feel it. A very dear friend recently said that when she started on a stationary Bike, she was struggling to work it for 5 mins, now her persistence has paid off and she is able to do longer without her brain shutting down! She is able to push herself to get to her goal. NO PAIN NO GAIN is how the saying goes.

If you know me by now, you all know my passion to run. When I started running .5 miles was hard, today after 13 long years of running – I can tell you it is still not easy, but it gets better. Running is my Zen! Each mile is an achievement, each run is an effort. Takes a lot of discipline. Friday nights are always early to bed, no alcohol, hydrating and eating right – I have lot of runner friends who would agree that we don’t regret doing all this the previous night, the only thing we would regret is not wearing those shoes and going for a run on a Saturday morning. It’s an addiction! anyone can run, give it a try!

Fall in love with yourself, with your body, push it to its limits – you would be surprised to see what it can do for you! Your body will love you back, magic happens! You can reverse your age – it just becomes a number!

99% of the time it’s your mind which does the job. Help it make healthy choices. Push yourself every single day for no one else will do that for you. Consistence is the key.

Fitness is not a seasonal hobby, it’s a lifestyle.

Don’t wait for tomorrow, start today. TRAIN YOUR BRAIN.

Let your fitness journey begin.
